Apple has announced the A17 Pro, its new mobile chip for the iPhone 15 Pro. It brings a host of GPU-specific improvements and faster CPU performance, it ups the transistor count from 16 billion on the A16 Bionic to 19 billion, and it is made on a new 3nm node from TSMC called N3B.


Most interestingly, the A17 Pro uses a six-core GPU that supports hardware-assisted ray tracing.
