start a thread.

Instagram has just released Threads which is a new way of sharing text-based posts in a way that feels familiar to Twitter users yet still appealing to people who are fans of the Instagram app.

In the first seven hours after its launch, over 10 million people have signed up to try Threads. That is a remarkable number because, since its launch, Instagram has been known for its visual-only experiences.

To use Threads, you log in using your Instagram account and posts can be up to 500 characters long and include links, photos, and videos up to 5 minutes in length.

In this video I share two reasons why I think text-based posts are a good thing: greater accessibility and deeper connection.
